British Columbia Epithermal Gold and
Lead-Zinc Project Sedimentary exhalative “SEDEX”
lead-zinc-silver: OSPIKA, northeastern BC
OSPIKA is located within the Selwyn basin, at the southern most extent of the
Kechika Trough. The Selwyn basin is one of the most productive regions for
zinc-lead-silver SEDEX and stratiform barite deposits in the world (Goodfellow
and Lydon, 2007).

A property visit in August 2008 confirmed the presence of the prospective
stratigraphy, regionally known as the “Gunsteel Formation” (pictured above,
showing sedimentary pyrite beds)– host to numerous SEDEX Deposits in the area
such as Cirque , Driftpile (Teck-Cominco, 43MT and 18MT), and Akie (Mantle
Resources, 23MT). Ospika is approximately X km south of the Akie.
OSPIKA has all of the characteristics common to substantive
lead-zinc-silver deposits in the region, but only minimal exploration work
to date. From the available historic data, assessment reports indicate up
to 110,000ppm barite in stream sediment heavy mineral separates (BC assessment
report 10831).
An airborne magnetic and EM survey is underway as of late
September, 2008.
Located 50km east of the northern end of Williston Lake, 225km WNW of Fort St.
James. Currently, there are logging roads to within 10km of the property,
which is generally accessed by a 10 minute helicopter flight.
Epithermal Gold-Silver: Interior Plateau, BC
Large epithermal deposits have been discovered within the same geological belt
that hosts Takara`s epithermal properties: Big Bar and Baez. Regionally,
the belt, which extends along the western North American coast, is known to host
major epithermal gold deposits (such as the world class Coeur D’Alene deposit).
Historically, epithermal deposits in Canada have not been recognized. This
was compounded by the nature of previous exploration in the region, which
focused more on base-metals and an ensuing failure to assay for gold.

Big Bar
Epithermal, brecciated, mineralized vein systems characterize the property,
located 55km W of Clinton. Historic grab samples from various vein sets
have assayed 0.9 to 2.17 g/t gold and 3.0 – 45.9 g/t silver.

Baez
Located 50km southwest of Nazko, Baez is underlain by favourable felsic volcanic
rocks, showing advanced argillic (epithermal) alteration. Historic drill
core data records assay values of 6.2 g/t silver, 0.32 g/t gold, and 995 ppm
arsenic, over 2m.
Exploration
Both properties are road accessible. Modern airborne geophysical surveys
are planned for late September/early October of 2008, with related
alteration mapping and prospecting.
